Medaketiya Beach

The beaches of Medaketiya and Medilla are ideal for swimming and relaxing. Like many other Tangalle beaches, these beaches to the east of town are quite uncrowded. These two beaches are situated on land that is bounded on one side by the ocean and on the other by mangroves. This beach’s lengthy stretch of golden sand and deep blue sea make it a serene and peaceful area ideal for relaxation. The waves may be rather powerful at times. Despite this, Medaketiya Beach is one of the top swimming sites in Tangalle. From this beach, you can see the ocean, fishing boats, and the port. The pristine beach of Medilla is also uncluttered by tourists and is a great place to relax in and enjoy the sun and sand while getting a suntan. The golden sandy shores and the palm trees create a breathtaking picture and is another place that is suitable for swimming in Tangalle.
