Birds Watching

A recognized forest reserve surrounds Sigiriya Rock Fortress, which is a great location for bird watching. As a UNECO World Heritage Site, the Sigiriya Sanctuary is a well-protected region, and the streams and dense canopy woods make it a birdwatcher’s paradise. Our knowledgeable naturalist for bird viewing will be with you throughout the early morning (6 AM to 10 AM) birding excursion in the Sigiriya Sanctuary. After your morning of bird viewing at Sigiriya is over, you’ll be taken to Habarana for lunch and some downtime. In the lodge’s grounds, you’d also be able to witness a wide variety of birds.

5.15 AM – Pick up from Habarana/Dambulla/Sigiriya Hotel

6.30 AM to 10.30 AM – Morning bird watching trip in Sigiriya Forest Reserve

11.00 AM – Transfer Hotel Habarana for lunch and rest

3.00 PM to 6 PM – Afternoon bird watching trip in Habarana Jungle

6.00 PM – Transfer to your hotel in Dambulla/Sigiriya/Habarana
